the "CIAO" and our logo

A BIT OF HISTORY

The CIAO is not simply a moped; it is an icon of freedom and a symbol of a generation. Produced from 1967 to 2006 by PIAGGIO and sold in approximately three and a half million units, the CIAO has won the title of the most loved Italian "fifty" in the world. With an accessible price and low consumption, from the economic boom until the end of the 20th century, it represented independence on two wheels for young people, a real "passport to freedom".

Its innovative design, which combined the practicality of a women's bike with the adventurous spirit of a motorbike, captured everyone's hearts, becoming a cultural reference point and an object of desire, especially for girls. The CIAO has thus become an emblem of recent Italian history, a "moped" that has spanned decades while always remaining in the heart of the country.

THE AMBRA ITALIA LOGO

The CIAO represented a shared dream of freedom, overcoming gender boundaries and becoming a meeting point between male and female, young and old, enthusiasts and casual riders. It is this universal fusion of intent that inspired our Ambra Italia logo.

The Ambra Italia logo design celebrates this heritage by combining elements that evoke both strength and elegance, with lines that flow together in perfect harmony. The distinctive geometry symbolizes the integration of masculine and feminine, of technique and design, of past and future — all elements that come together in the dream of freedom that CIAO has made possible. Our logo is a tribute to this spirit, a seal that represents our dedication to carrying forward the CIAO legend through the modern revolution of electric mobility.

The Ancient Greek term for amber, "ἤλεκτρον" (ēlektron), gave rise to the word "electricity".
