AMBRA ITALIA - TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

Art. 1 – SERVICE PROVIDED BY AMBRA ITALIA.

Ambra Italia sells the kit, of its own design and patent, for the transformation of the CIAO Piaggio moped into a pedal-assisted electric bicycle, according to the UNI EN 15194:2018 standard (*) – Pedal-assisted electric cycles – EPAC bicycles - Point 4.3.7.4 and Appendix "C". The customer is informed that the installation of the kit downgrades the moped to a pedal-assisted electric bicycle and that this condition is irreversible.

(*) motor with max. power 250W and assistance up to max speed of 25 Km/h

Ambra Italia DECLARES that the E-Bike (former Ciao Piaggio moped), equipped with the kit assembled in a workmanlike manner, in accordance with the provisions of the Operating Instructions indicated in article 2):

1. It COMPLIES with the UNI EN 15194:2018 standard – pedal-assisted electric cycles – EPAC bicycles - Point 4.3.7.4 (Fatigue test on the frame)

2. It COMPLIES with the UNI EN 15194:2018 standard – pedal-assisted electric cycles – EPAC bicycles - Appendix «C» (EMC- Electromagnetic Compatibility)

Art. 2 – TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION FOR ASSEMBLY AND CONTROL. MOUNTING REQUIREMENTS

With the sale of the Kit, Ambra Italia makes available, on USB support, the complete technical documentation for the state-of-the-art assembly of the kit, in compliance with the above-mentioned points of the 15194:2018 Standard.

Although no special qualifications are mandatory, it should be noted that the installation of the Kit requires specific experience and equipment from a workshop specializing in E-bike repairs.

With the experience and specific equipment of a specialized workshop, installation takes about 18/20 hours.

Kit e is protected by a Patent issued by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Therefore (Ministero del Lavoro e del Made in Italy), all Technical Documentation is the intellectual/industrial property of Ambra Italia. It is forbidden to copy, appropriate, disclose, reproduce and/or publish any content contained therein without prior specific authorization from Ambra Italia. This documentation is made available to the customer by Ambra Italia, exclusively for the purposes set out in these General Terms and Conditions of Sale. The customer is responsible for complying with the above.

Art. 3 – INDEMNITY

By accepting these General Terms and Conditions of Sale, the Customer hereby indemnifies Ambra Italia from any civil and criminal liability that in any way may arise as a result of assembly and/or control processes that do not comply with the provisions of the technical documentation provided and/or the use of the e-bike.

Art. 4 – CIAO SERIES ON WHICH TO INSTALL THE KIT

The kit can be installed on all Ciao series. Modification to e-bikes from the 1974 R2 series onwards is recommended.  Older models must be evaluated beforehand together with the customer.

Ambra Italia brings together the Ciao versions in two large families: "SC" and "PX". The SC or PX indication is limiting, but it still serves to identify the "group" to which it belongs for the transformation into an E-Bike, as specified below.

With the SC family, all CIAO pre-1979 are classified (regardless of the type of saddle, sprung or not), with the smaller headlight body and the rear light positioned on the fender, while, with the PX family, those of the P-PV-PX-PXV series and later, which have the largest and squared front light body and the rear light positioned on the luggage rack, are classified.

Excluded from these two families are the Ciao series "Mix" and "Mix Teen", produced from 1996 to 1999, which must be evaluated beforehand together with the customer.

Regarding the substantial differences for the transformation into an E-Bike:

The CIAO of the SC family have a slightly shorter pedal axle on the right side, compared to the PX versions. Therefore, for the CIAO belonging to the SC family it will be necessary to replace this component (not supplied with the Kit) since the black plastic side panels supplied are from the PX series and later, so they have the classic external curvature in the area of the engine cradle, which requires a slightly longer pedal axle on the right side (examples visible in the Photo-Gallery of the www.ambraitalia.it site).

The right side of the frame reinforcement plate and horn are different in the SC and PX series

For series with alloy wheels, it is recommended to replace the front wheel with a spoked wheel, while the complete rear axle (spoked) is supplied with the modification kit already assembled.

For other technical characteristics and all information on the transformation, please refer to the pages of the www.ambraitalia.it website.

For any clarification on the family to which the buyer's Ciao belongs, write to: service@ambraitalia.it

The kit is designed specifically on the geometry of the Ciao frame and, therefore, cannot be installed on other moped models.
